While some of our clients work in other countries, they will never be involved in exporting goods. Others – manufacturers, distributors, resellers – frequently sell products to other countries and have well-established export departments.  And some, particularly in unsettled times when competition is so fierce, who have not exported before will be looking to export and so build a new source of customers.

For new exporters the concept of exporting and the processes involved can be daunting, confusing, perhaps off-putting, worrying. There seem to be so many risks!  Transferring money, loss of goods in transit, language misunderstandings leading to wrong orders, goods damaged by a third party needing to be returned and replaced, choosing the right time to place the transaction to get the best currency rate, ensuring you get paid the right amount at the right time, meeting legal obligations … it’s a long list of uncertainties.  How can you work out what to do?

Those same risks are also faced by established exporters.  But they often also have the extra pressure of meeting ever-increasing demands to reduce costs and streamline processes so they remain competitive, able to retain existing customers as well as win new business abroad.

Whatever your business, exporting is a risky business.  We help exporters minimise those risks by:

•    brokering export finance deals that ensure you protect your business and trade efficiently financially;
•    providing consultancy advice for businesses which have never exported before; and by
•    training finance departments in companies which regularly export but want to keep up to date with new rules and processes and ensure they trade efficiently;
•    and we’ll explain the jargon, too.
